Crankshaft structure
The crankshaft is generally composed of main journal connecting rod journal, crank, counter weights,
oil passage,front end and rear flange etc.
The function of the counterweights is to balance the centrifugal inertia forces and their moments
generated by the various machine parts.
The main journal is the supporting part of the crankshaft and is supported by the main bearing
in the main bearing housing of the crankcase.
The number is not only related to the number of cylinders in the engine but also depends on the way
the crankshaft is supported.
The connecting rod journal is the part of the connection between the crankshaft and the connecting rod,
the connection is rounded to reduce stress concentration.
The front end of the crankshaft is equipped with gears that drive the fan, the pulley of the water pump, etc.
To prevent oil from leaking out along the crankshaft journals, the front end of the crankshaft is
equipped with an oil dump disc and an oil seal on the gear chamber cover.
The rear end of the crankshaft is used to mount the flywheel, with an oil retaining flange
and oil return thread between the rear journal and the flywheel flange to stop the oil from escaping backwards.

TYPES OF THE CRANKSHAFT
According to material classification, diesel engine crankshafts can be categorized into cast iron crankshafts
and forged steel crankshafts.
Cast iron crankshafts typically have a material grade of QT800-2 and offer the following advantages,
making them widely applied in various engines:
1.Low manufacturing cost: Cast iron crankshafts have relatively low manufacturing costs, making them
an economical choice.
2.High strength: Cast iron crankshafts exhibit high strength, allowing them to withstand the high pressures
and torques generated during engine operation.
3.Good wear resistance: Cast iron crankshafts have a high surface hardness, providing excellent wear resistance
and maintaining optimal performance over prolonged usage.
These characteristics make cast iron crankshafts a popular choice for various engines, meeting the requirements
for strength, durability, and manufacturing costs.
Forged steel crankshafts are typically made from materials such as 42CrMo.
They are known for their high strength and excellent wear resistance. Although forged steel crankshafts
have higher manufacturing costs, they offer longer lifespans compared to other types of crankshafts.
Here are some key characteristics of forged steel crankshafts:
1.High Strength: The use of forged steel, such as 42CrMo,provides exceptional strength
and rigidity to withstand the high forces and stresses encountered in engine operation.
2. Superior Wear Resistance: The forged steel material used in these crankshafts exhibits
excellent wear resistance, ensuring prolonged durability even under demanding operating conditions.
3.Extended Lifespan: Due to their robust construction and high-quality material,
forged steel crankshafts have a longer service life compared to other types of crankshafts.
This can result in reduced maintenance and replacement costs over time.

The Process Flow
Our crankshaft production workshop is fully equipped with advanced facilities and equipment.
We have specialized capabilities for crankshaft sand casting, the flexible production line includes CNC lathes,
grinding machines,fillet rolling machines, and nitriding treatment processes,
delivering exceptional precision and durability.
Production standard according to GBT23339-2018 and IS16949.our crankshaft are designed to
achieve superior performance and reliability.
Step 1: Iron Sand Laminating Molding
The materials are melted in an induction furnace and then poured into iron molds, which are uniformly coated with a layer of 5-8mm thermosetting sand.
Step 2: Roughing&fine machining on CNC machines
Use CNC grinding machines, lathes and internal milling machines to carry out machining processes such as turning, internal milling and turning and broaching on crankshaft main journal and connecting rod journal, as well as for machining other cylindrical parts.
Step 3: Drill the Oil holes
Fully automatic crankshaft oil hole machining machine, machining oil holes and chamfering, smooth delivery of oil to the engine bearing to lubricate them and reduce the phenomenon of holding bearings.
Step 4: Induction quenching
After the induction quenching of the crankshaft journals, their wear resistance and fatigue strength are effectively improved.
Step 5:fillet rolling
Step 6:Nitriding
After the nitriding process, a layer of nitrides forms on the surface of the crankshaft. This layer effectively reduces friction between the crankshaft and bearings, resulting in improved wear resistance of the crankshaft journal surfaces.
Step 7:Inspection
Before the crankshafts are packed in the boxed, the appearance, diameter, roundness, curvature and roughness are measured and the composition of the material is analysed using a metallographic analyser.
Step 7:Packing in case
The crankshaft coated with anti-rust oil, wrapped in anti-rust paper and placed in wooden case.
